Samadhi is the state of union with an object. Samadhi creates the deepest possible experience of knowledge and understanding. Gain true understanding by merging your consciousness with any object.
In this Higher Self video teaching mini-series, we began by first centering ourselves in the deepest layer of our being: conscious awareness. Within this state of total stillness, we witnessed the first movement of creative energy called ‘intention’. Now in this third video we guide our intention to create new knowledge and understanding.
Before we pursue any acts of outward creations, it is best to gain knowledge about how to create, what we are creating and what goals we desire to achieve. With accurate knowledge, then we can act and all of our actions will be more effective at reaching their goals.
In this video you will be guided in the process of understanding – which is the opening up of your conscious awareness to receive information and experience. As your ability to stay as receptive awareness increases you will be moving towards the meditative state of Samadhi – total union with the object(s) of perception. Samadhi is one of the deepest state reached along the genuine path of yoga, as taught by Patanjali and the earliest gurus of yoga. By reaching the samadhi experience, full knowledge and understanding is reached.
This video includes a guided exercises that teaches you how to stay in the state of receptive awareness so that learning will happen most effectively.

dear lincoln, i was listening to step 3 and a few questions occurred.
the higher self mentioned tt in the state if of samadhi there is true understanding where u and the obj of your perception are one and this is beyond thought. my qn then is how can there be true understanding unless there is first hand experience going through the subject itself. lets say i wan to know if a job( obj of perception is suitable). unless i already know what is the jobscope about and have gone through and worked at the job for a period of time, how will i know what it truly is? and before i even wad it is, how can i merge with it and get a true understanding through samadhi before the experience of the obj of perception? this is very puzzling to me and very abstract and i wonder how can this be applied?
In the Samadhi experience, the consciousness of the personal self merges with the form of the object. This union of consciousness and object creates the most direct knowing possible. In comparison to this Samadhi state, most of our experiences are as a consciousness observing a separate object. We cannot experience ourselves as being the object. There is the experience of distance between ourselves and the object. There is still knowing in these states with more separation, however the knowing is of a lesser degree.
Based on your question of experiencing a job, I don’t think you have an accurate understanding of what the term Samadhi means. The Samadhi experience is reachable through deep meditation in which the sense of a personal self disappears. My advice is to study more deeply the term Samadhi (research Patanjali) and then practice meditation regularly to have all mental activities (thoughts, imagination, memories, sleep) stop. Once the mental activities stop, then the deeper currents of mental energy will slow and stop. Then the Samadhi state will arise naturally. You will know completely that you are consciousness and that consciousness is within all forms.
In every moment we are always existing as consciousness interacting with form. There is always a degree of oneness being experienced. The process of perception, learning and interaction is dependent on oneness first. Oneness is a constant in every moment. However our experience of this oneness will vary based on how active our mind is and how deeply we hold the idea that we are a separate form in the Universe.

Can i understand that once the personal self disappears and the consciousness of the personal self merges with the form of the object, since i will experience oneness in consciousness i will automatically understand through direct perception eveything abt that object? in this case say we went bk to the example of the job for simplicity sake, does that mean my consciousness will perceive the consciousness of the job and i will automatically understand eveythg there is to know abt the job and there will be no more questions and doubts abt the suitability abt the job left because i have totally merged my consciousness with the consciousness of the job and i do not have to ask anymore becuz i have already received all i needed to know in my conscious waking mind? am i going along the right track?

Yes, in Samadhi when the consciousness merges with the object of perception, the everything about that object is known. It is a common experience that even as a person works towards Samadhi, all things are known at greater depth – because the experience of separation is lessening.
The job is not a good example in this case, because the job is a series of interactions with multiple objects, including people. The “job” is not an object, but a process.
In a samadhi state you will experience yourself as being all the objects you encounter during your job (each person, each piece of paper, each pencil, etc). You will experience yourself as the consciousness within each object and the characteristics of the object. You will also understand the interactions that happen between the objects during your job, because you are “being” all the objects in your perception.
When you perform the actions in the job, you will move, speak, act in a seemingly automatic way because the integrated intelligence within all objects effortlessly shows you the correct path of action. You will “know” what to do because the direct experience is showing you what needs to happen. It can also be said the the Universal Intelligence is guiding you and creating through you in the Samadhi state.

thnk you so much lincoln. this has helped to clarify my doubts and helped me gain more insight. my personal goal is to cast aside everythg for the nxt few weeks and go thru all the 22 steps. i m so thnkful and grateful that i happened to chance upon your website. its true that the universe answers when the student is seeking. thnk you for the great work of putting up the videos. thnk you for being in service to the divine, touching my life and helping me evolve in my spiritual understanding. what i have been seeking for the longest time is the blueprint to creation. the step by step mthd to understand how it works and through your site, i may hav found what my soul was reallly seeking for.

oh dear lincoln, i dont think i did very well, at first it was with me most of the time, twas easy because i was on my own for a few days…then i was aware when i left that place of awareness,..but came back…. but then life took over, and i found myself allowing events to tempt me back to the old self..and yesterday, when an interactive stressful situation with my dear partner happened.. i lost the plot completely…there is a nasty person inside me…who is influenced by all the past bad stuff…who i am so ashamed of…..and a newish person, who i am proud of………. but right now i am starting the contemplation one (no 4)…trying not to be cross with myself…with love and many thanks…from sue xxx.
now i have watched step 4…i am going back to do step 3 again…..which i HAD considered before, so thank you Lincoln for suggesting it….
