❤️ What are the different methods spiritual and occult schools use to pursue enlightenment, and how do they compare to the Higher Self’s approach?

I recently came across a wild and terrible idea that some occult schools teach that the fastest path to enlightenment is by doing as much harm as possible, or going as “low” as possible, and somehow punching through the depths of hell into the heights of heaven. Maybe this is something some of the powerful and cruel people causing suffering on this planet genuinely believe?

I also know the middle path of The Buddha was made as a clearly different path to enlightenment than the one pursued by yogis who renounced all material possession. And in yoga I’m aware there are many paths to God.

So I’m just curious to hear about all the ways in which humans are pursuing enlightenment, and what’s actually most effective. Thank you! : ).
